Module Description

This module aims to develop a critical understanding of specific non-Christian faiths and to enable students to evaluate how Christianity relates to those faiths.


Learning Outcomes

On successful completion, you will be able to:

  1. Critically and respectfully engage with literary sources from within specific non-Christian religions

  2. Compare and critically evaluate the main teachings and practices of specific non-Christian religions

  3. Reflect critically upon personal experience of a visit to a place of worship of another faith

  4. Demonstrate ability to critically evaluate contemporary world-wide trends in religion and religiosity

  5. Critically evaluate varied Christian perspectives on other religions in light of the Bible, tradition and contemporary trends
