Practical Training Co-ordinator

Roz joined the BBC team in August 2018 and coordinates practical training for the University of Cumbria BA (Hons) degree. Roz lived and worked in Jordan for 13 years. She studied and completed her PGCE while living in Jordan and taught in an International School for 4 years, serving as Key Stage 2 leader. She is passionate about promoting practical and engaging learning.  She hopes to continue to develop the practical ministry training at BBC so that students leave with a practiced understanding of the skills needed to contribute and lead in all types of practical service.  Roz and her family now live in Belfast.

Originally from Northern Ireland, Roz studied anthropology and has always had a passion for overseas work. She moved to Jordan with her family in 1999 and volunteered with a number of NGOs in Jordan, including working with the United Nations High Commission for Refugees in Amman.  Roz was involved in the work and community of the International Community School in Amman as a parent and a teacher. Roz also served as country team leader for a group of expatriate Christian workers from over 8 different countries coordinating orientation and language learning. Her recent work in Belfast with Barnardo’s involved working with families in the area of education and parenting.
Roz currently worships at Fitzroy Presbyterian Church in Belfast, and is involved in the children’s and youth work.
