News Release about the Principal
The Principal of the Belfast Bible College, Dr Helen Warnock, has announced this week that she is coming to the end of her time leading the College. Helen strongly believes that God is calling her to another sphere of work and ministry but will be remaining in post until February 2022.
Helen joined as Principal in December 2016 and has led the College with vision and purpose for the last five years. During her time at the College the MA Theology programme was launched and has proved to be very successful. The quality of the College accredited courses has been endorsed in the recent excellent report from QAA; the feedback from the National Student Survey is similarly positive. Last year the College launched ‘The Transformation Project’, a series of short evening courses that seek to equip members of the whole Church to understand better their faith and to deepen their relationship with God. The uptake of the courses has been encouraging and the feedback has been very positive.
We are enormously thankful to Helen for all that she has contributed and for the leadership she has exercised in bringing BBC to its current position. The College has a strong staff team, with significant experience in teaching, in leadership and in ministry and mission. We have a vision to equip 21st Century Disciples: the need for people to know how to engage well with theology and how to handle the Bible is as important now as it ever has been. Please do continue to pray for and support the work of Belfast Bible College during this period of transition and for the new cohort of undergraduate and postgraduate students starting in this academic year.
