Full Course Description
Meeting with others to study the Bible together is such a worthwhile and transformational exercise yet so often people are placed in the position of leadership with no guidance as to how to approach such a task. There is a vast array of outside resources available but often they leave us simply listening to the thoughts of our favourite Bible teachers and we receive the truth second hand.
God has chosen to reveal Himself to us in words – 66 books that were breathed out by Him and are living, active and powerful. What if we could meet around this Word together and allow it to speak to us for itself?
During this short hands-on course we will look at such topics as the nature and authority of the Bible, how to study and prepare different Biblical genre, how to lead effective group discussions, the dynamics of good small groups and the private life of a leader. We will look at some of the challenges – the presuppositions we bring, the differing personalities in our groups and the hard work of moving knowledge into experience and command into obedience.
