Having experienced something of the power and glory of God in revival in Africa, his soul was piqued and inflamed to explore the theology and reality of revival back home in Ireland: what happens in revivals and why does God bring them about; can Christians contribute to revival awakenings or is this something ascribed solely to the providence and timing of the Lord; indeed, what does church history teach about revival and is there a scriptural basis; and how might a revival movement begin today?
