Module Description

To explore and evaluate the historical development of Christian mission from its early days to the present.

 

Learning Outcomes

On successful completion, you will be able to:

1. Demonstrate a critical understanding of the major themes, events and people that shaped Christian mission

2. Appreciate and evaluate the breadth, depth, diversity and unity of the practice of mission in historical contexts

3. Reflect critically lessons on the past so as to apply these to the challenges of Christian mission today

4. Evaluate Christian mission historically and globally in its rich and diverse forms

5. Effectively communicate the relevance of historical and contemporary contextualisation in Christian mission

 

Assessment

A portfolio of 2500 words and one written assignment of 2500 words
