First Year - Semester 1
The module aims to explore the meaning of mission and ministry in biblical and theological perspective. It will also lay foundations for future practical theological studies in both Christian ministry and mission.
On successful completion, you will be able to:
Demonstrate an understanding of the relationship between Christian mission, church-based ministry and service in the world
Identify strengths and weaknesses of diverse understandings of the church and approaches to church organisation in light of the bible, tradition and contemporary contexts
Demonstrate an awareness of diverse theologies of and approaches to evangelism in contemporary Western contexts
Understand varied Christian perspectives on the gospel and sources of authority with a particular emphasis on evangelical bases of faith
A written assignment of 2000 words
