Announcing our new Principal

9/9/2016

Belfast Bible College are delighted to announce the appointment of our new Principal, Helen Warnock. Helen has been the General Director of Scripture Union Northern Ireland since 2003 and worked in Christian ministry in Northern Ireland for the last 20 years. Our Board of Directors carried out a comprehensive search to find the right person to lead the College forward, to continue our strong links with the local Church, Missions and Ministries as we seek to offer quality, relevant Theological Education to resource the Church for the Mission of God. Please pray for Helen as she transitions from her role in SU and starts on a new journey leading the College staff and students.

Introducing Helen:

HelenHelen has spent the last 20 years plus in ministry, starting as a youth worker with YFCNI and then leading their Year Out Teams and co-ordinating Mannafest. For the last 13 years she has been the Director of Scripture Union Northern Ireland, a role she has treasured, as this movement helps children and young people across N.I. encounter God. She is passionate about seeing all ages develop and grow in their faith whilst becoming better equipped for mission and leadership.

Alongside her role in SUNI, she facilitates a Learning Community for Youth Ministry Leaders and has been part of the ‘Together’ initiatives, editing and contributing to the Together book and helping run a gathering for this community. She is currently completing her Doctorate in Practical Theology through Chester University, researching youth ministry in Northern Ireland.

Helen grew up in Omagh with a brief time in Nepal after university but now very much considers Belfast home, with great friends and family close by or frequently visiting. She is part of a new church plant in the Cathedral quarter of Belfast under the leadership of Carnmoney Presbyterian. A recent addition to her house has been the arrival of a little puppy called Mollie.

Helen is really excited about joining the team at BBC and looking forward taking up this role.
