At Belfast Bible College, we want to continue to offer courses which are of value and benefit to those choosing to study with us.
Following a period of significant review, we will be offering a new and exciting programme of part-time learning from September 2010, designed to provide increased flexibility and greater opportunity to work towards a recognised award. While it will still be possible to study individual modules, you will also be able to build on this study, should you choose to at a later stage.
Access Learning is an approach to theological education based on the values of openness, ownership and flexibility. Out of these values emerges an ethos of learning, focused on the individual, which provides the back-drop to a range of distinctive learning opportunities at BBC. We firmly believe that theological education and learning should be easily accessible to all, and should enable individuals to experience continued personal growth and an increased desire and ability to serve God.
Access Learning is currently offering a diverse range of part-time learning opportunities at BBC, staffed by our full-time teachers and supported by key ministry practitioners from the wider Christian community. Every study opportunity within the Access Learning programme is shaped by the following values:
1. Accessibility
We all need learning. Access Learning works to make Christian learning open for all and fully accessible.
2. Transformation
We all need learning to bring change. Access Learning fosters a framework for spiritual education that seeks to develop the whole person and their view of the world.
3. Creativity
We all learn best when captivated. Access Learning values simple and creative approaches to the design and delivery of all learning experiences.
4. Progression
We all learn in different ways and at different speeds. Access Learning encourages innovative ongoing assessment for learning that builds confidence.
5. Community
We are all learners. Access Learning recognises the value of learning together with others, of being teachable and of sharing our learning.
6. Connection
We all want learning for living. Access Learning provides learning that integrates faith and daily Christian living.
7. Generosity
We want to make our learning available to all. Access Learning promotes forms of learning that once completed can be easily shared with others.
