BA (Hons) in Youth & Community Work & Practical Theology
The Centre for Youth Ministry Ireland (CYMI) was established in 2008, and is a partnership between Belfast Bible College and Youth Link: NI.
CYMI offers individuals the opportunity to study for an Honours Degree in Youth & Community Work & Practical Theology, rooted within a Christian framework, and with JNC recognition (subject to validation) awarded by the University of Gloucestershire.
Students will explore how faith interacts and informs youth work practice and also develop competence within the areas of theological reflection and informal education.
This is a three year programme which will qualify graduates to work with young people in a church and community context.
CYMI is based on the BBC campus, although students also spend a significant proportion of their week working with a designated professional practice agency. Although CYMI students spend less time on campus than other full-time BBC students, they do have the opportunity to participate in many aspects of community life at BBC, including prayer, worship and meal times.
Applications are now being taken for 2010, and should be made in the first instance through UCAS at www.ucas.com. For full details please visit the CYM website at www.centreforyouthministry.ac.uk
For the academic year 2010/2011 fees for United Kingdom and European Union students are expected to be in the region of £1,325.
